Identifying strong bases

Postby RiaCasas2L » Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:36 pm

Are there any specific properties that make one base stronger than another?

Hi,

A stronger base will have a higher concentration of hydroxide atoms, which basically inversely relates to a concentration of H+ ions. The more affinity a molecule has for gaining H+ ions, the stronger of a base it will be.

One way to determine if strong bases are stronger from one base to another is to see if there are charges on more electronegative atoms.
