strength of bases

Postby andrea guzman 1F » Sun Dec 10, 2023 11:52 am

I know that in relation to weak bases the one that produces the most OH- are the stronger of the pair. But if they both produce the same amount of OH- and are both weak bases how would we determine which is the stronger base of the two?

If you are comparing two strong bases, one way which you can tell which base is stronger is by the size of the cations (for example, KOH is slightly stronger than NaOH because of the larger size of the K+ cations).

If both bases have the same amount, they are usually neutral since they cancel each other.
