Ka Constant

What is the significance of the acid dissociation constant (Ka) in the context of acid-base equilibria, and how does a small or large Ka value influence the strength of an acid?

A large Ka value translates to significant dissociation, which indicates a strong acid. Conversely, a weak acid would have a very small Ka value.

Ka determines the ratio of products to reactants of an acid in solution at equilibrium. The larger that Ka is, the stronger the acid is because a higher Ka means that it dissociates more completely.
