Amphoteric Oxides?

Postby JohnVRobinson » Fri Dec 08, 2023 7:22 pm

What are some example of amphoteric oxides. Especially ones in metal and how do they behave.

Some examples of metal oxides that are amphoteric are ZnO (Zinc oxide) and Al2O3 (Aluminum oxide). Essentially amphoteric oxides behave as both acidic and basic oxides. They have features of acidic as well as basic oxides and can neutralize both acids and bases.
