How do amphoteric compounds behave in solvents like water and does that impact their ability to dissolve?

Amphoteric compounds are substances that can act as both acids and bases. So, when dissolved in water, they can either accept or donate protons depending on the pH of the solution. The solubility of amphoteric compounds in water depends on their behavior in the solvent, whether it's more acidic or basic.
