What are examples of amphoteric oxides, and what should we know about them?

An amphoteric oxide is an oxide that can act as either an acid or base in a reaction to produce a salt and water. examples include aluminum oxide and zinc oxide

I think they tend to be formed with elements near the metalloids on the periodic table. for example, Al and sometimes As.
