How can you tell that As2O3 is an amphoteric compound? Which atoms make it an amphoteric compound?

The element As is a metalloid, which can form amphoteric oxides. They can react with both acids and bases.

between the metal oxides (bases) and nonmetal oxides (acids), there is a diagonal band of amphoteric oxides closely matching the diagonal band of metalloids
