How would we calculate [H+} if were given the pH??

Let's say pH=1
[H3O+] would be 10^-pH, or 10^-1

The formula given in class was pH = -log[H3O+]

is it in terms of H30+ or H+?

It is in terms of H3O+, but I believe that we consider them to be interchangeable as Professor Lavelle has mentioned in lecture.
