Lewis and Bronsted acids and bases are interchangeable. A Lewis acid accepts an electron pair and a Bronsted acid donates a proton. Both types are acids whose overall charges decrease. A Lewis base donates an electron pair and a Bronsted base accepts a proton. So, the charges of both types increase.

A lewis acid is an electron pair acceptor and a Lewis base lends an electron pair. The bronsted definition is that an acid is a proton donor and a base is a proton acceptor.

Lewis Acids and Bases involve ELECTRON transfers, while Bronsted Acids and Bases involve PROTONS.

The lewis definition involves the transfer of a pair of electrons. The bronsted definition involves transfer of a proton.
