Mg(OH)2 Considered strong or weak base?
I've read online some conflicting things about Mg(OH)2. Some places say it is a strong base while other places say it is a weak base. Some tables include Mg(OH)2 as a strong base while other places don't include it. What would be the correct answer that Lavelle would accept?

Re: Mg(OH)2 Considered strong or weak base?
I put that it was a strong base because the hydroxides of Group 1 and 2 elements are strong bases.

Re: Mg(OH)2 Considered strong or weak base?
Mg(OH)2 is a strong base since strong bases are oxides and hydroxides that bond to group 1 and 2 elements.

Mg(OH)2 is a strong base because hydroxides in Groups 1 and 2 in the Periodic table are considered strong bases.

Mg(OH)2 is a strong base because it is one of the Group 1 and 2 oxide and hydroxides, where those are strong bases.

Mg(OH)2 is definitely a strong base being a metal oxide with a group 1 metal.
