In Monday's lecture, professor Lavelle mentioned that Fe is pulling electron density towards it, and thus causing the O-H bond to break in FeOH2.
In this case, Fe is more electronegative than oxygen because we are looking at the ion Fe3+ right?

yes, I believe he did mention something about the 3+ charge on the Fe
