Electron Delocalization and Acidity

Postby Aaron Tang 2F » Tue Nov 30, 2021 10:14 pm

Why does acidity increase as electrons are delocalized? I understand that electron delocalization makes a compound more stable, but how does this stability increase acidity?

When talking about electron delocalization, they are referring to that of the conjugate base. As the conjugate base is more stabilized, the reaction's equilibrium will lie to the right and the acid will want to donate a proton.
