Sixth Edition: J.9. Hydrochloric acid is a strong acid. Which of the following images best represents a solution of hydrochloric acid? The green spheres represent chlorine and the gray spheres, hydrogen.

Why is the answer b? (An image where the spheres of chlorine and hydrogen atoms are not connected?)

B is the answer because a strong acid is completely deprotonated in solution, meaning that every acid molecule/ion has lost its hydrogen, and in the image b all of the hydrogens have separated from the Cl.
