Alkali vs Alkaline

What is the difference between Alkali Metal and Alkaline Metal. Strength between acid and bace?? Can you use it in a formula with water?

Alkali metals are in group 1 and alkaline earth metals are in group 2. Both of them form base compounds. For example NaOH and KOH are from the alkali metals and CaO and Mg(OH)2 are from the alkaline earth metals.

Alkali metals are 1st group metals and Alkaline metals are 2nd group. Generally Alkali metals form stronger bases comparing to the Alkaline metals in the same period.
