Textbook J.9.d

"Identify the salt that is produced from the acid–base neutralization reaction between: (d) sodium hydroxide and hydrosulfuric acid,
(both H atoms react). Write the complete ionic equation for each reaction."

I am wondering why the reaction part of the ionic equation does not separate H2S into 2H+ + S2-. Thank you!

I think this is just to show that H2S is our acid and it will donate protons to the OH-. It ends up becoming S2- on the products side of the equation anyway.
