Conjugate Base of CH3COOH

Conjugate Base of CH3COOH
I know that the formula for the conjugate base of CH3COOH would simply be created by removing an H+ ion which leaves us with CH3COO- but I'm wondering if writing it like CH3COO- is incorrect or if this is simply the equivalent of CH3CO2- and has no effect on the accuracy of my answer?

I have seen it written both ways in the textbook and think it is fine to write it either way

I think the purpose of writing it as CH3COO- is to indicate that the molecule is a conjugate base to CH3COOH, it shows where the molecule came from.

It should be correct because the textbook does indicate the conjugate base of CH3COOH as CH3COO-. I suppose the purpose of writing in this style is to indicate that the CH3COOH is the proton donor who donates one proton, and it becomes CH3CO- after losing that proton and becomes the conjugate base of CH3COOH.
