12.61 Find the initial concentration of the weak acid or base in
each of the following aqueous solutions: (a) a solution of HClO
with pH # 4.60;

how did they calculate the Ka?? I seem to be stuck on this part of the problem.

To find Ka, you have to go to the Tables 12.1 and 12.2 on pages 477 and 478. They give you the Ka and Kb of various weak acids and bases.
