How do you find the conjugate acid and base for an acid and base? Did we go over this in lecture yet?

For an acid, the conjugate base would just be the structure of the molecule after the acid donates a proton (when it is deprotonated). For a base, the conjugate acid is when the base accepts the proton (when it is protonated).

There is a more detailed description and examples in the textbook on pg 466 (6th edition)

Andrea pretty much explained it already but to give you an example, we can look at the common reaction of:
HCl + H2O --> Cl- + H3O+
and from this we know that HCl is an acid and it produces the Cl- which is its conjugate base, likewise, H2O which is a base turns into H3O+ which is its conjugate acid. Hope this helps!
