single arrow vs double arrow

when the equation involves a weak acid it is written with a double arrow because the reaction is reversible but when the equation involves a strong base it is just a single arrow. HCl+H2O --> H3O+ + Cl-, if it was a weak acid that arrow would have one facing the product and the other facing the reaction. -->
