Re: Oxyacids
To add on, in oxyacids, at least one Hydrogen is bonded to the Oxygen (it is this one that is donated).

Re: Oxyacids
Hi! Like others have said above, an oxyacid is an acid that contains oxygen, hydrogen, and another element. At least one acidic hydrogen is bonded to an oxygen atom. The more oxygen atoms (or the higher the oxidation number), the stronger the acid.

Re: Oxyacids
For oxyacids, the strength of the acid increases with the number or oxygen atoms attached. This is due to the high electronegativity of the oxygens, which pull the electron density away from the hydrogen, making it easier for the hydrogen to be removed.

An oxyacid is an acid that contains an oxygen, where a hydrogen is bonded to an oxygen in the acid. The strength of the acid increases with the number of oxygen atoms are in it.

An oxyacid is an acid that contains an oxygen atom bonded to a hydrogen atom and at least one other element. The general structure is X-O-H.

Re: Oxyacids
Oxyacids are compounds where there is an oxygen atom bonded to a hydrogen atom, such as in HFO.

Re: Oxyacids
Ocyacids are compounds that have include both hydrogen, oxygen, and another element to make up an acid. Some examples of this are HBrO3, H2CO3, and HIO3 where the strength of the acid increases per number of oxygen.
