In each of the following salts, either the cation or the anion is a weak acid or a weak base in water. Write the chemical equation for the proton transfer reaction of this cation or anion with water: (a) NaC6H5O

What is the importance of saying the cation or anion is a weak acid or base in this question. Does that tell us something about the chemical equation?

I think this is just telling us that the ion will not completely dissociate in water.
