Which is the stronger base, the hypobromite ion, BrO,
or morphine, C17H19O3N? Justify your answer

How can i tell which is stronger without pKb values?

I already know HBrO is a relatively weak acid because it has a single bonded O-H and bromine is less electronegative so the electron cloud is fairly localized around the oxygen, making this an easy bond to break. However, how can i tell what Morphine is? I tried drawing it but sorta failed. Is there any easy way to tell?

I had the same question. I know that a weaker acid has a stronger conjugate base (and vice versa) but I was not able to figure out the structure of Morphine. I read in the Textbook that molecules with higher oxidation numbers are stronger acids, so if that applies I imagine BrO is a stronger base. However, I do not know how many protons can be picked up by Morphine
