Are we expected to carry out calculations for pOH with log ??

I expect most problems will still be in terms of pH, but I suppose pOH is fair game since it was brought up in the lecture. It helps that it's not difficult to memorize!

Yes you should know how to calculate pOH and pH. But, both are -log[OH-] or -log[H+] and make sure that if asked for pH and you find pOH that you subtract the pOH from 14 since pOH + pH =14.

To calculate pOH you could take the -log[OH-] or you could subtract the pH from 14. ( 14 = pH + pOH ) Either way the calculation of pOH is nothing to worry about :)

The calculations for pOH are the same as for pH including the trend, high kA and low pKA indicate a strong base.

The p in pH and pOH just means "take the -log of" so if you need the pOH, you do -log[-OH]. Sometimes, you only have enough information to calculate the pOH, but you can then use it to calculate the pH if necessary.

I feel like most things will be in terms of pH, but I've seen problems where information is given in pOH which we'd need to use for calculations to maybe determine pH. For that you could use pH + pOH = 14
