pH vs pKa

Postby Alyssa Bilinsky 2B » Wed Jan 31, 2024 10:45 am

Hey! I am confused about the difference between pH and pKa. Doesn't a low pH mean that there is a low pKa? How are they different?

The lower the pH, the higher the concentration of hydrogen ions [H+]. The lower the pKa, the stronger the acid and the greater its ability to donate protons. pH depends on the concentration of the solution while pKa does not.
