strength of acids based on pKa

Postby Ella Kim 3E » Wed Jan 31, 2024 10:53 pm

How can we determine the strength of a group of acids if we are only given their Ka?

a large ka means a stronger acid.

We can determine the strength of a group of acids by comparing their Ka values. The larger the Ka value, the smaller the pka value would be, and therefore the stronger the acid would be. So the acids with the largest Ka would be stronger.
