Which is the stronger base, the hypobromite ion, BrO-, or morphine, C17H19O3N? Justify your answer.

I understand that you would want to determine the pH of these bases in order to determine which is stronger, but in the solution manual it seems as though we should already know the pH of these bases. Should we refer to certain tables to find this data, memorize certain pH values, or will this information typically be given? Also, the solution says to find pKb but isn't pKb the same thing as 14-pH? I don't know how you would solve this problem without any given information.

pKb is not a constant. It is the negative log(base 10) of the base dissociation constant(Kb). Also I hypobromite is more basic than Morphine.
