Churro #34

Postby Sona Hakobyan 3J » Sat Dec 08, 2018 8:26 pm

Can someone please explain Churro #34?
Grace sees her crush and panics, accidentally dropping 382.7 mg of HCl and 147.1 mg CaO into a 1L flask. After filling that flask with water up to the 1L mark, what is the pH of the resulting solution?

I don't know where to start.

First, find the number of moles and molarity of each molecule.
Then find the balanced equation: 2HCl+ Ca0 -> H20 + CaCl2
Then find which one is the limiting reactant.
Find the remaining amount of H+ left.
Then -log[H+] to find the pH.

I hope this helps.
