It is more stable when it is less likely to attract a proton and stop being a conjugate base.

The more polarizable an anion, the more stable it is, so the more electronegative an atom, the more stable the anion.

An anion is more stable when it has a higher electronegativity and thus attracts more electrons. This means an anion that is more polarizable is also more stable.

Higher electronegativity means stronger attraction, which leads to more polarized and more stable.
