Equilibrium constants

What does an equilibrium constant (kA) mean? Also, is there a difference between kA and pkA? In addition, when do we know to use this formula in a given problem? Are there any instances of it in the homework?

kA is just the constant for acids. pkA refers to the pH of kA which is just -log(kA).

The equilibrium constant kA is a quantitative measure of the strength of an acid in a solution. The pKa is used to indicate the strength of an acid.

the formula for kA = [A-][H+] / [AH]. i dont think we need to solve for it in this class but its good to know what it is and what it means
