Do sig figs only count after the decimal when it comes to pH?

Yes, the sig fig is equal to the # of numbers after the decimal for pH.

Does this work the other way around too? If we were given a H3O+ concentration of 1.56 x 10^-4 where there are 3 sig figs, would we have to write the pH as 3.807 or as 3.81 ?

I thought sig figs for pH were equal to the exponent?

During one of the review sessions they said that sig figs for pH count after the decimal so 12.22 has 2 sig figs.

Yes, for pH sig figs, only the values after the decimal place count.

You count the sig figs after the decimal point when calculating with logs.
