Equilibrium calculations

Postby Kallista McCarty 1C » Sat Dec 07, 2019 8:16 pm

Will we be expected to do any equilibrium calculations for acids and bases on the final or is that 14b? I know Lavelle mentioned them, but I can't remember if we are tested on them.

I believe we only have to do calculations on pH of strong acids and bases and not on equilibrium of weak acids bases. However we do need to know how to calculate Ka and Kb.

I think we only need to know the concepts and the logistics of Ka, but we won't have to do any calculations since we haven't learned everything about weak acids. We will, however, need to know about strong acids and its dissociation properties.

Calculate in the Ka and Kb aren't hard though if he gives us the concentrations of the reactants and products. Other than that, I dont think we'll have to calculate it because its in 14b

We shouldn't have to since we were told that was something we would be doing in Chemistry 14B.

Equilibrium calculations are not on the final.

Equilibrium calculation are 14B because they require an ICE box, which Dr. Lavelle explicitly stated we would not have to do on the final.
