6C. 7 textbook probs

Postby Raashi Chaudhari 3B » Sun Jan 24, 2021 10:27 pm

Hi,
I am very confused about how to go about solving this problem.
I thought that I would have to compare Ka values and then whichever has the greatest Ka value is the strongest acid and so forth, but I am confused because the answer key is not what my problem looks like.
I am unable to find +NH3OH and (CH3)2NH2+ on either table.
I cannot figure out how to solve this problem even after checking the solutions manual, so I was hoping someone would be able to explain this to me.
Thanks!

I am having similar issues with number 9 and don't know how some of the pkb values were found. Is there a different approach I need to take to solve this problem because it is dealing with bases? I was thinking to just compare the Kb values and whichever was the greatest was the strongest base and so on.
