Strong vs. Weak Acids and Bases

Postby Chelsea Culi 3F » Sat Nov 27, 2021 1:06 am

Would we have to memorize which acids and bases are strong or weak for the final?

I don't think you need to memorize them if you know the periodic trends that help differentiate between strong and weak acids. Definitely know the trends.

Its recommended to at least memorize what the strong acids and bases are, and simply assume that the rest are weak. Here's a helpful link: https://sites.google.com/site/chempendix/strong-acids-bases

Hi! I think it would be super useful to look at a list of the common strong/weak acids and bases before the final. I think there's a page with the list in the book but you could also just google it. Also, the more practice problems you do the more familiar you'll become with them. Hope this helps :)
