Trends to determine strength of acid

In what situations do we use electronegativity instead of the bond length to determine the strength of an acid?

Hey! Based on my understanding, we would look at bond length when the compound only consists of H and something else, so like HF or HCl. But for more complex ones, there are other atoms that influence the strength of the acid so looking at electronegativity would help. So if we were looking at CH3COOH for instance
