The molar concentration of HCl in hydrochloric acid is reduced to 12% of its initial value by dilution. What is the difference in the pH values of the two solutions?

Hi! For this question, you need to take the change of pH by finding the -log of 0.12 of the original value of HCl over the original value of HCl to find the difference in pH values. delta(pH) = -log((0.12*[HCl])/[HCl]) = 0.92 as the difference in pH values. Hope this helps!
