Given Ka
I'm noticing that a lot of the textbook problems aren't providing the Ka and Kb's that we need, especially in the 6D problems. We will always be given these values on exams though, right?

Re: Given Ka
Yes I believe we will always be given at least one of them, and then if you need the other, you can solve by using the equation Ka*kb=Kw where Kw= 1.0x10^-14

Re: Given Ka
We probably will be given these values because we wouldn't be able to solve ICE boxes otherwise, since there are two unknown variables.
Regarding the problems in 6D, a lot of them aren't given because you need to use the Ka to find the Kb, or vice versa.

Re: Given Ka
Agreed with everyone, maybe it is provided in some data box in the book? Ka and Kb are constants, hence when you need to solve for a concentration in the ICE box, you will need the K values.

Re: Given Ka
We most likely will! also for the 6D problems, there's a note at the top that says to use the Ka and Kb values from the chart in 6C so I'd assume they would give us a similar chart or values.
