Why do we typically disregard the second deprotonation of polyprotic acids?

Typically the Ka for the second deprotonation is extremely small. Apart from sulfuric acid, for most acids it doesn't have a meaningful effect on pH.

Because the Ka for the second deprotonation is very small, it doesn't have a substantial effect on pH.

For polyphonic acids, only the first Ka is significant as the removal of the first hydrogen results in the biggest change in pH. Each succeeding removal of hydrogen does not have as much effect on the pH.
