When you take the log of [B][H3O+]/[BH+], how is it equal to log([B]/[BH+])+log[H3O+]?

You are able to do that because that is one of the log rules. log(ab)=log(a) +log(b)!

There is also another important log rule you should know that states log(a/b)= -log(b/a), if it ever comes up in the practice finals.
