What part do the parent acid and base play a part in identifying if a salt is neutral, basic, or acidic?

A salt is neutral if the cation comes from a strong base and the anion comes from a strong acid. It is acidic if the cation comes from a weak base and the anion comes from a strong acid. And it is basic if the cation comes from a strong base and the anion from a weak acid.
