Identifying different levels of acids and bases

Postby En-Ya Zhang 3K » Thu Jan 25, 2024 11:28 pm

Is there any way to differentiate between different levels of weak acids and bases simply based on the chemical nomenclature of the compounds?

Generally, the more O an acid has, the more storng the acid is. For example HClO2 is stronger than HClO. You can also remember that organic acids and bases (acid/bases with a C-H bond) are generally weak.
