Identifying the Different Types of Acidic and Bases

Postby charlotte_jacobs_4I » Tue Dec 04, 2018 7:53 pm

I know there are Lewis acids and bases and Bronsted bases and acids, are there anymore we should know? Also, what are the differences between them?

Bronsted acids donate protons and Bronsted bases accept protons. Lewis acids accept electrons and Lewis bases donate electrons. I would think that there are not anymore we need to know.

These are the only definitions of acids and bases that Lavelle has taught. Just remember that Bronsted deals with protons while Lewis deals with electrons! Hope this helps
