Properties of Strong Acids

Postby kshalbi » Sat Dec 05, 2015 9:54 am

I know that a strong acide has the property that its resulting anion must be stable, but what exactly does this mean?

This means that equilibrium lies nearly entirely to the right. That is, towards the production of hydronium ion. The anion does not behave like a conjugate base.

What does it mean for the resulting anion to be stable?
