STANDARD ENTHALPIES

Postby Lesley Perez 1F » Sat Feb 17, 2024 11:54 pm

Hello,

As I'm reviewing the lectures I'm still confused on the difference between standard reaction enthalpies and standard enthalpy of formation. From my understanding standard reaction enthalpy is when all reactants and products are at standard state? And standard enthalpy of formation is also at standard state but i'm not too sure how to define each one. Can someone help me out pls and thank you :).

Hello ! From my understanding the standard enthalpy reaction is the change in enthalpy where heat released created the difference within the reactions and products while the enthalpy of formation is the change in empathy when a single compound is formed from the elements and describes the change within the reactions. I hope this helps out.
