Re: pH vs. pOH
pH measures the amount of H+ molecules in solution while pOH measures the amount of OH molecules. Basically, the higher the pH, the lower the pOH, and the more acidic. Vice versa, the higher the pOH, the lower the pH, and the more basic a solution is.

Re: pH vs. pOH
pH is a measure of acidity, specifically it measures the H+ ions. pOH is a measure of basicity, specifically the OH ions. Their respective values are inverse of each other. For example, ph of 0 is a pOH of 14.

Re: pH vs. pOH
pH measures the concentration of H3O+ ions while pOH measure the concentration of OH- ions.

Re: pH vs. pOH
If you have the pH of a solution, you can calculate its pOH or vice versa. For example, if the pH is 2 then the pOH will be 14-2=12

Re: pH vs. pOH
pH measures acidity while pOH measures basicity, and you can use one to get the other
Re: pH vs. pOH
pH measures acidity whereas pOH measures basicity. Both are primarily measured on a scale from 0-14 so if the pH is 4 then the pOH is 10 and so on.

Re: pH vs. pOH
In most circumstances, we measure pH of a solution. It makes things easier/more standard, but we can also measure pOH.
Just as pH is defined by -log[H+], pOH is defined by -log[OH-].
Because of the equilibrium constant of water, pH and pOH have an inverse relationship. pH = 14 - pOH, and pOH = 14 - pH.
This happens because of the equilibrium constant of water. At 25°C, Kw = 10^-14.
kw = [H+][OH-]

Just to clarify, they always add to 14?

Yes, they always add up to 14

Re: pH vs. pOH
pH calculates is the amount of H+ in a solution while pOH calculates the amount of OH-. Both utilizes -log to determine their concentration, however, for pOH, you must subtract the value you get from the -log[OH-] to get the correct answer. I hope that helped!
Re: pH vs. pOH
Ph measures acidity of the solution, and POh measure how basic the solution is. P stands for the -log of []

Re: pH vs. pOH
pH indicates the concentration of hydronium, while pOH indicates the concentration of hydroxide. You can think of them as the extent of acidity and basicity (respectively).

Re: pH vs. pOH
What is the relationship between pka and ph? Which equation do we use to go between them? Thank you.
