Marshmallow Questions

Postby Adam Kramer 1A » Sat Dec 07, 2019 12:58 pm

For 1 a and b for the Marshmallow review, is K and Na not accounted for in the equilibrium solution because group 1 and 2 atoms do not affect pH?

K and Na aren't accounted for in the equilibrium solution because they form KOH and NaOH which are strong bases and wouldn't affect affect pH.

Both K+ and Na+ are derived from strong bases so they are extremely stable and will not form their strong bases in water, so they do not affect the pH.
