6D.15

Postby JaesalSoma1E » Wed Jan 27, 2021 5:51 pm

In a question like 6D.15 (posted below) are we supposed to know the Ka/Kb value or is it implied that we should be looking it up?

Calculate the pH of (a) 0.19 m NH4Cl(aq); (b) 0.055 m AlCl3(aq)

I do not think we will be expected to know any Ka/Kb values (other than Kw). At the top of the problems for section 6D it says you can use the charts to find the Ka/Kb values. I talked to a TA who said that for problems like this on an exam we will be given Ka/Kb values or a chart similar to how problems have been structured on Sapling.
