pH of a charged cation & anion salt

Postby Maham Kazmi 2J » Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:52 pm

Hey! How would we calculate the pH of a salt which doesn't have a neutral cation or anion? The textbook problems have examples of molecules such as KOH in which we can ignore the K+ anion as being neutral but none with both a charged cation acid and weak anion base?

We are not doing salts where both the cation and anion in the salt that change the pH.

See my class examples for calculating the pH of a salt in solution.
Also see the examples in Achieve and in the assigned problems.
None have salts with the cation and anion both changing the pH. :-)
