How is acid rain formed and how could we reduce it?

Acid rain is caused by a chemical reaction that begins when compounds like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released into the air. These substances can rise very high into the atmosphere, where they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form more acidic pollutants, known as acid rain.
I looked it up and found this: sulfur is already removed from fuels during refining through a remarkable chemical process called hydrodesulfurization. The sulfur gets stripped from the fuel in the form of hydrogen sulfide, which is subsequently converted to solid sulfur, or sulfuric acid.
Maybe it’s just important to know the importance of the production of S04

Using clean coal instead of dirty coal can also reduce acid rain. It reduces the amount of sulfur produced.
