hey! on the acid/base outline it says "explain why rain can be acidic and discuss possible options to reduce acid rain."
what I understood from lecture was that CO2 reacts with the atmosphere, slightly dissolves in H20 and produces a slightly acidic solution of carbonic acid, H2CO3. then, SO2 and NO2 are pollutants and further lower the pH of rain when they react with water, forming sulfurous acid, H2SO3, and nitric acid, HNO3.
however, are there any other details we are expected to know? and could someone please discussion options to reduce acid rain? thanks so much!

That is a good summary of what I covered and in the required reading.
Obviously anything that reduces the production of CO2, SO2, and NO2 reduces acid rain.

Re: outline question on acid/base formula/structure
Are there any molecules that could bond to these acid causing gasses and create a shell around them to reduce acidity?

Re: outline question on acid/base formula/structure
what would the equation look like for showing the chemical reaction of acid rain?
