Acid Rain
Hello, on the outline for Acids and Bases it says to explain acid raid and discuss possible options to reduce acid rain. Where can we find information about this in the textbook and is there anything else that we need to know for the final?

Re: Acid Rain
I am not sure where you can find it in the textbook but Dr. Lavelle did mention this in his lectures and in one he mentioned it under polyprotic acids and bases. He said to remember that CO2 dissolves in water and it lowers its pH.
CO2 (g) + H2O (l) --> H2CO3 (aq)
Which causes acidic rain. Hopefully this helps! Also you could review his lectures to see where else he mentions it.

Re: Acid Rain
Basically, all you need to know is that CO2 dissolves in water to make acid rain. As we have increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere, there is a higher chance for acid rain. This chemical equation is also very important in biological body systems.
